JUST IN๐ฅ๐: The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals has overturned a ruling by U.S. District Judge Kathleen Williams, appointed by President Obama, which sought to shut down the โAlligator Alcatrazโ facility and stop its construction. The court has also prohibited Judge Williams from moving forward with the case until Floridaโs appeal is resolved. This is a significant victory for Florida and the Department of Homeland Security.

A federal jury has ordered Google to pay $425.7 million for improperly snooping on peopleโs smartphones during a nearly decade-long period of intrusions.
The verdict reached Wednesday in San Francisco federal court followed a more than two-week trial in a class-action case covering about 98 million smartphones operating in the United States between July 1, 2016, through Sept. 23, 2024. That means the total damages awarded in the five-year-old case works out to about $4 per device.
Google had denied that it was improperly tracking the online activity of people who thought they had shielded themselves with privacy controls. The company maintained its stance even though the eight-person jury concluded Google had been spying in violation of California privacy laws.

WaPo๐ฅ : U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the federal agency responsible for managing lawful immigration, including issuing green cards, has been authorized to add armed law enforcement officers with arrest powers to its personnel, it said Thursday.
The Trump administration has already made several changes at USCIS this year to heighten scrutiny of immigrants, including increased efforts to determine whether applicants have โgood moral characterโ as well as screening for โanti-Americanโ behavior.
USCIS Director Joseph B. Edlow, a Trump administration appointee who was confirmed in July, said at a Center for Immigration Studies event on Thursday that the new personnel would investigate immigration fraud.
He added that he had conferred with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), to which USCIS would traditionally refer potential law violations, and โtheyโre looking forward to having the extra help.โ

NEWโ๏ธ: The US has ordered 10 F-35 fighter jets to be deployed to Puerto Rico as part of its drug cartel fight, sources told The Post Friday โ just days after a lethal strike by US forces wiped out nearly a dozen Venezuelan narco-terrorists.
The fighter jets, which will only boost the US militaryโs presence in the southern Caribbean region, are due to arrive next week, a source close to the Trump administration said.
The jets are being deployed as part of Trumpโs vow to crackdown on designated narco-terrorist organizations. The military has already deployed warships to the area in recent weeks.
