PATSY RUNNING SMOKESCREEN?๐ค: The Utah man who was arrested in the immediate aftermath of the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk is a well-known "gadfly," according to the Salt Lake County District Attorney.
Following the shooting, the Utah Department of Public Safety said they "initially took in George Zinn as a suspect," before "He was later released and charged with obstruction by UVU police."
"There are no current ties to the shooting" with Zinn or another man who was arrested and released, DPS also said. "There is an ongoing investigation and manhunt for the shooter."
Zinn, 71, has been seen at various political speeches and protests throughout the years, The Salt Lake Tribune reported.
In a video of Zinn with officers after the shooting, one uniformed officer is heard saying, โHe said he shot him, but I donโt know.โ
Salt Lake County District Attorney Sim Gill says his office has prosecuted Zinn numerous times and that he has a criminal history dating back to the 1980s.
Zinn was often arrested on suspicion of trespassing, Gill said. He was politically conservative, leaning libertarian, and would โgive me a hard time for being a Dem,โ the district attorney said. Zinn was curious about politics and โalmost every political event you can think of, there was always George somewhere in the background, listening.โ

โ๏ธMany liberals aren't okay with the loonies celebrating. This guy says he's "leaving the left." He's seen people on the left who are "pro un-aliving political opponents," like President Trump, VP Vance, or just celebrating what happened to Charlie Kirk in general.
"It's just disgusting behavior," he says and adds that he never thought being a part of the political left for 7 years would get to a point where he would have to look at his own party and be like, 'hold on, I can't support you anymore because everything that you are doing right now is against your political viewpoints and your values and beliefs. To sit here and promote gun violence against your opponents is wrong and it arguably makes you worse than the other side because you're basically saying these people deserve to be unalive because our political beliefs are more important and should have more value than a human life!.'

JUST IN: Vice President JD Vanceโs plane, Air Force Two, will transport Charlie Kirkโs casket from Utah to Arizona, a day after the conservative activist was assassinated during an appearance at a university.
A source familiar told The Hill that Vance and second lady Usha Vance will meet with Kirkโs family and close friends in Salt Lake City before the trip.
The casket, along with Kirkโs family and friends, will then be flown to Phoenix, Arizona aboard Air Force Two, the source said. Turning Point USA, which Kirk co-founded, is headquartered in Phoenix.
