🤨Jamaal Bowman escapes House Ethics Committee investigation for fire alarm incident

The House Ethics Committee won’t take disciplinary action against Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY), once again declining to open an inquiry into the New York Democrat after he falsely pulled a fire alarm in a congressional building last year.

The decision comes after the Office of Congressional Ethics recommended an investigation into allegations Bowman “may have willfully or knowingly given a false alarm” in order to disrupt congressional proceedings that were ongoing at the time. However, the committee voted to reject the request because Bowman was censured by the House late last year on similar charges, arguing any further action would be “moot.”

The following is a conversation I overheard whilst milling about:

Comic Book Guy: “Yeah. I voted for the first time in the midterms in 2022, and I’m voting again this year. I’m tired of this shit.”

Customer: “I hear you. Me too. I never thought I’d vote Republican, but here we are.”

Comic Book Guy: “They can’t even keep their LGBT bullshit out of Comic Books anymore. I’m over it. I’m sick of Liberals telling me what I should believe and the more they tell me not to vote for Trump the more it makes me want to vote for Trump.”

I sniggered.

This? This is what The Great Awakening looks like. I literally heard lifelong nerds having a discussion yesterday in a fucking COMIC BOOK STORE (of all places) talking about how badly this country needs Trump back.
