US deploys Marine anti-terrorism unit to Haiti to protect embassy
A Marine anti-terrorism unit has now been deployed to protect the American embassy in Haiti, U.S. military officials say, as violent gangs continue to generate unrest in the Caribbean nationโs capital.
The U.S. Southern Command said in a statement early Wednesday that at the request of the State Department, it deployed a "U.S. Marine Fleet-Anti-terrorism Security Team (FAST) to maintain strong security capabilities at the U.S. Embassy in Port-au-Prince, Haiti and conduct relief in place for our current Marines, a common and routine practice worldwide."

Reactionaries who want to ban TikTok claim the data canโt be secured because the โalgorithmโ is in China.
Not true.
The truth is the Algorithm runs in the U.S. in oracle cloud with their review of the code. (NOT in China).
Maybe we should examine the facts before committing violations of the 1st and 5th amendments.

The Republican National Committee has hired two new lawyers to lead its legal efforts, a source familiar with the hires told NBC News.
The move comes as the organization focuses on voting and election-related concerns following the Trump campaign's effective take-over of its leadership.
Republican lawyer Charlie Spies will serve as RNC's chief counsel, the source said. Spies recently worked for Michigan Republican Rep. John James and previously served in Mitt Romney's 2008 presidential campaign. He notably rejected the prevalent election denialism in the party while speaking on a panel at the Conservative Political Action Conference in 2021, drawing shouts from the crowd.
Christina Bobb, who has served on the Trump campaignโs legal team and is a prominent figure in pushing the GOP's unfounded claims of a stolen 2020 election, will serve as senior counsel for election integrity, the source said. Bobb confirmed she joined the RNC in a post to X.

ATLANTA (AP) โ The judge overseeing the Georgia election interference case has dismissed some of the charges against former President Donald Trump, but others remain.
Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee wrote Wednesday in an order that six of the charges in the indictment must be quashed, including three against Trump. But the order leave intact many other charges in the indictment and the judge wrote that prosecutors could seek a new indictment on the charges he dismissed.

Jim Jordan blows up CNN's narrative that Trump isn't victim of a two-tiered justice system ๐ฅ
โHillary Clinton took a hammer to cell phones, took bleachbit to laptops and computers. You gotta be kidding me. The idea that there's not a double standard and the Justice Department isn't going after President Trump I think is laughable to disagree with that.โ ๐ฅ
