BREAKING: Republicans will move to hold Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt of Congress, DailyMail.com confirmed, after the Department of Justice refused to hand over audio tapes of Joe Biden's interview with Special Counsel Robert Hur.

The attorney general had until April 8 to hand over requested materials from Robert Hur's interviews with Biden that led him to conclude the president is 'elderly' and 'well-meaning' but has a 'poor memory.' 

They subpoenaed transcripts, notes, audio and video files largely related to Hur's interview.

While the DOJ has handed over transcripts of Hur's interviews with Biden as well as the transcript and audio recordings of an interview with Biden's ghostwriter Mark Zwonitzer, Republicans are unsatisfied.

Trump Media hires new auditor after previous accounting firm charged with 'massive fraud'

Truth Social owner Trump Media hired a new auditor over the weekend after its previous public accounting firm was accused of perpetrating a massive fraud by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, according to a regulatory filing Monday.

As part of its settlement with the regulator, BF Borgers and its owner Benjamin Borgers agreed to a permanent ban from auditing public companies, and to pay $14 million in fines.

The ban required Trump Media and other public companies that had used BF Borgers to find new auditors.

In a subsequent filing Monday, Trump Media said Semple, Marchal & Cooper was selected "after a detailed evaluation process."

Former National Enquirer publisher David Pecker, who testified at Donald Trump's criminal trial last month, was targeted in a fake emergency the same day he took the stand in New York, according to police records seen by Reuters.

The previously unreported April 25 "swatting" incident, or filing of a false report to trigger a potentially dangerous response, is one in a wave of violent threats against U.S. officials and other public figures in recent years.

A person using the name "Jamal" claimed in an email to a local newspaper that he had tied up his wife in the basement and killed his wife's lover. Jamal gave the address of the crime as Pecker's home in Greenwich, Connecticut.

"I fucked up really bad," Jamal wrote. "Please help me."

The incident report by the Greenwich Police Department said when police were alerted to the email they were already aware of Pecker's home address due to his "being involved in a highly publicized trial."

BREAKING: An assassination plot on the life of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has allegedly been 'foiled', according to the Security Service of Ukraine.

Two Ukrainian counterintelligence officers were allegedly detained over 'plans of [Russian intelligence] to eliminate the President of Ukraine and other representatives of the top military and political leadership of the state'.

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) claimed on Telegram two colonels were implicated in the plot, allegedly 'leaking' information back to Russia.

SBU investigators allegedly uncovered a drawn out plot to closely follow watched persons before targeting a safehouse with a 'rocket attack'.

BREAKING: TikTok and its Chinese parent company ByteDance said on Tuesday they filed suit in U.S. federal court seeking to block a law signed by President Joe Biden that would force the divestiture of the short video app used by 170 million Americans or ban its use.

The companies said they filed a lawsuit in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia arguing that the law violates the U.S. Constitution on a number of grounds, including running afoul of First Amendment free speech protections. The law, signed by Biden on April 24, gives China's ByteDance until Jan. 19 to sell TikTok or face a ban.

New York City's Rikers Island is prepared if former President Donald Trump is ordered to serve time in jail amid his unprecedented trial in Manhattan, Mayor Eric Adams said Tuesday.

"Our amazing commissioner … is prepared for whatever comes on Rikers Island," Adams told the media Tuesday when asked if Rikers, New York City's largest prison, is prepared if Trump is ordered to jail for violating a gag order imposed during the trial.

"I'm pretty sure [the Department of Corrections commissioner] would be prepared to manage and deal with the situation. As you see what's happening with Harvey Weinstein, we have to just you know, in this business, particularly around law enforcement, we have to adjust whatever comes our way," he continued.

BREAKING: Trump lawyer moves for a mistrial

Trump lawyer Todd Blanche said the defense team moves for a mistrial based on the testimony from Daniels this morning.

Blanche argued that the guardrails were thrown aside and the testimony was unduly prejudicial to Trump and the charges in the case. He said her testimony about her encounter with Trump in 2006 is much different from the stories she was telling in 2016.

He said that her testimony has nothing to do with the case and argued that the only reason prosecutors asked about the encounter aside from embarrassing Trump was to inflame the jury.

"What's the jury to do with that?" he said. “It’s still extraordinarily prejudicial to insert safety — safety concerns into a trial about business records.”

"There's no way to unring the bell in our view," he said.

Blanche said Daniels' testimony that she "blacked out" before having sex with Trump "is the kind of testimony that makes it impossible to come back from,"
