—❗️🇮🇷/🇴🇲 BREAKING: Iran and Oman have released a joint statement, announcing they have reached a preliminary agreement on managing the Strait of Hormuz
Iran’s Foreign Ministry emphasizes this does not mean the Strait will be opened; it will remain fully closed until the U.S. naval blockade is lifted and the MoU terms are abided.
Details of the Iran-Oman agreement have not yet been released, but according to preliminary information Iran has been given control over incoming maritime traffic and the right to impose service fees.

JUST IN: According to Ukrainian media reports, CIA Director John Ratcliffe discussed with Russian officials a mutual cessation of strikes by Russia and Ukraine against energy infrastructure and ports. The discussions also reportedly covered a ceasefire in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions, as well as further steps towards resolving the conflict.

According to my information from both Russian and Ukrainian sources, there is a possibility of Russia carrying out a cross-border incursion from Bryansk Oblast into Chernihiv Oblast.
A large Russian build-up in Bryansk Oblast has been observed recently, with a mix of motorised and airborne units, as well as infrastructure necessary to support a cross-border operation. I can't go into details about the specific equipment being brought here, or the potential timeframes for such an operation (for obvious reasons), but more information may become available soon.
The Ukrainian command knows about this build-up, and is responding with various pre-emptive measures. Again, I can't go into specific details, but what can be said is that they appear to be preparing for an operation to take place at any point from now to the end of 2026. What can be said is that there are certain units that are being held in this general area specifically for countering any cross-border incursions - units that could be sent to other parts of the frontline.
In my opinion, any cross-border operation would be limited, and aimed mostly at drawing Ukrainian forces away from the east, overextending their limited manpower to create the conditions for additional advances in the east. Similar to what has been seen in Kharkiv and Sumy Oblasts for the last 2+years.
Note: This information comes from Russian and Ukrainian sources who I have spoken to. Both have given me permission to post this. Details which could be used by either Russia or Ukraine for targeting one another have been omitted. Everything mentioned here is already known by each side. Arrows shown on the map are illustrative.

Russia has significantly increased their shelling of Slovyansk with MLRS and FPV drones in recent days, resulting in civilian casualties and significant damage to infrastructure.
According to local authorities, mass evacuations are underway, with the population of Slovyansk shrinking to around 25,000 (plus another 5,000 in surrounding settlements). Slovyansk had a pre-war population of 105,000. Nearly 8,000 civilians have evacuated the Slovyansk area since the beginning of August.

Reuters: Former Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov says Ukraine is “gradually, slowly losing” the war and has only months to make major strategic changes.
He blamed weak governance, corruption and a failure to deploy military technology effectively, saying Ukraine still has “every chance” to win but lacks an overall plan.
“Technologies exist already which could completely stop the Russians,” he said, arguing Kyiv is failing to apply them at scale.

Pickups and cars are the modern horses of this war, and drones are the modern arrows. That's the analogy that comes to mind, because I've always loved history, the battles of the Khmelnytsky era, and the game "Cossacks." Seeing these cars being destroyed in this war, it's like seeing horses fall in those ancient times, and I find myself increasingly pondering what kind of cycle history creates for humanity. It keeps going around and around with these wars, only the tools change, but the reasons remain the same: the thirst for power, personal complexes, and ambitions.
We are achieving certain successes in Konsta[ntinovka].
P.S. Yana, who I dated for a while and broke up with last winter, has left Slavik [Slavyansk] and is in the Netherlands. That's how it goes.

⚡️Belarus builds railway near Ukraine capable of military transport, monitoring group says.
The planned track will be able to accommodate up to 60 railcars, roughly comparable to a military train, and will include a high loading platform with ramps allowing wheeled and tracked vehicles to be unloaded directly inside the facility, according to the documents.
