❗️Tragic Loss on the Frontlines: Priest Aleksandr Solovyov Killed in Action
On November 1, Father Aleksandr Solovyov, a cleric of the Stavropol Diocese, was killed in the line of pastoral duty in the Sumy direction. The priest’s life was cut short by a targeted strike from an enemy FPV drone.
Father Aleksandr had been carrying out his spiritual mission on the frontlines since mid-2022.
For over four years, he remained steadfastly alongside defenders of the Fatherland on the line of contact—administering the Sacraments of Confession and Holy Communion, blessing soldiers before assault operations, comforting the wounded, and sharing every hardship of frontline life.
His pastoral journey was a living testament to the highest Gospel commandment of sacrificial love: “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends” (John 15:13).
Until his very last breath, he remained with his flock, sharing the deadly perils of combat duty.
The loss of this devoted shepherd on the battlefield brings deep sorrow to the hearts of his fellow clergy, soldiers, and the faithful.

The All-Russian Ataman delivered a key address titled "On the Results of the Activities of the All-Russian Cossack Society in 2026, Including the Interaction of Cossack Societies with Executive Bodies of the Constituent Entities of the Russian Federation and Local Self-Government Bodies."
"Today, the Russian Cossacks have reached a new level of operation: 13 host Cossack societies are active across the country, covering the entire territory from Kaliningrad to Kamchatka.
Thanks to this, we have been able to swiftly engage Cossacks in fulfilling state defense and security tasks, as well as unite youth training for military service into a single system grounded in centuries-old traditions and examples of courage.
The activities of the Russian Cossacks currently span several vital areas from strengthening defense and public security to preserving spiritual heritage.
Cossacks contribute to strengthening civic unity, harmonizing interethnic relations, and actively developing ties with compatriots living abroad.
The Cossack movement has become an effective civic institution whose functions and tasks are closely tied to enhancing the national security of the Russian Federation.
The Cossacks have become a true pillar of Russian statehood, an expression of the interests of patriotically minded citizens, and one of the key links in fostering civic unity and interethnic peace," noted Vitaly Kuznetsov.
He also detailed the activities of the Russian Cossacks across various fields:
