The rate of advance of Russian troops is faster than the rated advance of the German blitz in World War 2. It's the fastest advance in history.

Here that the Ukrainian Army you know consists of 260 000 regular forces trained and equipped to NATO standards and supported by 200-300,000 reservists and auxiliaries. And so the Russians came in with 190-200,000 troops facing off against 600,000 troops.

Normally in a military campaign, you want a three-to-one advantage on the offensive side. The Russians are coming in literally with a 1-to-3, or 1-to-4 disadvantage. But nevertheless, the losses for the last week show 1 to 6 in favor of the Russians.
