"Today I took part in a meeting of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation on Interethnic Relations, chaired by Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin.
The meeting was held on the eve of National Unity Day. We reviewed the results of the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, the preservation of the country’s cultural and linguistic diversity, the strengthening of all-Russian civic identity, and support for public initiatives.
The President instructed that successful practices of the Year of Unity be systematized and integrated into plans for 2027.
In my speech I turned to the historical experience of our country, which has repeatedly shown that it is the unity and cohesion of its peoples that have helped Russia overcome the most serious trials and defend its independence.
I spoke about the heroism of representatives of different peoples of Russia participating in the special military operation, citing as an example the 6th Separate Guards Motorized Rifle Cossack Brigade named after M. I. Platov, as well as the Cossack units “Don”, “Terek” and “Siberia”.
The Cossacks have traditionally stood in defense of the Fatherland — this has been true for centuries, and it remains true today.
I also noted the selfless work of volunteers, including public organizations of the Lugansk People’s Republic, who every day prove that unity is manifested first and foremost in concrete deeds and mutual support.
Special attention was given to the spiritual, moral and military-patriotic education of young people, and to the important role in this work of the “VOIN” Centre, created on the President’s instructions. I reported to Vladimir Vladimirovich that 80% of the Centre’s instructors are participants in the special military operation and combat veterans.
I also emphasized the importance of family upbringing, moral guidelines and respect for the spiritual traditions of all the peoples of our country.
In concluding my remarks I stressed that the unity of the peoples of Russia is our historical heritage, a moral choice and a shared responsibility for the country’s future before the generations to come.
The Cossacks have always been and remain one of the pillars of this unity."

Посол находится в Австралии уже больше года (с сентября 2025 года). За это время он, судя по всему, так и не нашёл возможности встретиться и поговорить по-серьёзному с теми, кто здесь реально, а не декларативно, стоит на стороне России. С теми, кто не просто ходит на приёмы, а работает на фронт, на Победу, на Россию.
В Австралии есть серьёзные, уже давно сложившиеся пророссийские патриотические силы. В первую очередь — казаки и выращенные ими кадры. Эти люди не ограничиваются фуршетами, приёмами и банкетами. Они организуют марши и митинги в поддержку России, выходят на улицы австралийских городов, чтобы противостоять антироссийским акциям, ведут системную, добровольную, многослойную и долгосрочную информационную работу в СМИ и соцсетях. И — самое главное — открыто и без колебаний поддерживают СВО с самого начала, даже тогда, когда это было особенно неприятно и рискованно. Некоторые из них ездили из Австралии, чтобы совершать подвиги там, где теперь Россия.
Посольство прекрасно знает, о ком речь. Достаточно взять списки приглашённых на официальные дипломатические приёмы 2021 года и сравнить их со списком гостей на предстоящем приёме 6 ноября в Генконсульстве РФ в Сиднее по случаю Дня народного единства. Разница будет красноречивой. Старая «элита» соотечественников, которую годами кормили шампанским, канапе и грантами, в момент истины оказалась слабой, непатриотичной, а местами и прямо предательской по отношению к России, ведущей СВО. И списки гостей, естественно, изменились. Но вместо того, чтобы опереться на тех, кто доказал свою лояльность делом, посольство продолжает держать дистанцию.
В чём причина? Боязнь, что настоящие патриоты «слишком горячие», «слишком эффективные» и привлекут ненужное внимание австралийских властей к деятельности посольства? Что посольство обвинят в координации патриотических сил? Австралийские спецслужбы и так всё прекрасно видят и понимают: наиболее эффективные русские патриотические силы в Австралии как раз благодаря изоляции со стороны посольства работают органично и без координации сверху. Но эти факторы не дают морального права посольству изолировать эти силы в День народного единства в год народного единства. Если не сегодня — то когда?
Если соотечественник в Австралии не поддерживает СВО — ни открыто, ни хотя бы молча и твёрдо, — то какой смысл его «объединять»? Какой смысл приглашать его на дипломатические фуршеты, устраивать вместе сабантуи, уроки рисования, масленицы и концерты — всё это «безопасное», но по сути аполитичное и малополезное для России занятие?
Год народного единства ещё не закончен. Когда разойдутся те, кто пришёл на приём за шампанским и фотографиями, у посла, надеюсь, найдётся минута, чтобы вспомнить о тех, кто с 2014 года — с Русской весны — работает на Россию здесь, в Австралии, и днём, и ночью. И на виду, и за кулисами.
