BREAKING: Twelve people are dead after a skydiving plane crashed near an airport in Missouri.

Authorities say the aircraft was carrying 11 skydivers and a pilot when it went down near Butler Memorial Airport.

🔴12 people died after a small skydiving plane crashed and caught fire near Butler Memorial Airport in Butler, Missouri.

The tragic accident happened this morning around 11:30 a.m. All 12 people on board the aircraft, which included 11 skydivers and 1 pilot were killed in the crash.

The plane took off from the airport but was unable to gain enough altitude. It made a sharp left turn to circle back before crashing into a field adjacent to the runway and bursting into flames.

Butler is a small town located about 65 miles south of Kansas City.
