The National Mall has quickly become a ghost town.
Salute to America guests were evacuated from the site as severe thunderstorms rolled into the area, with loudspeakers ordering everyone to leave, assisted by National Guards and Secret Service.
Bill Melugin says attendees were visibly frustrated as they were leaving, and there is currently no update on a reopening or when the event will resume.

FBI swarms Philly house after twisted discovery.
A Philadelphia investigation escalated fast after a routine stop near Independence Mall uncovered what authorities describe as a highly unusual and potentially connected case involving fake credentials, firearms, and an abandoned property.
According to the report, the case began on June 19th when a park ranger conducted a suspicious vehicle check in the area.
During the stop, officers allegedly identified the driver as Eugene Horish and found fake DEA credentials along with two firearms that had erased serial numbers.
That discovery led investigators to obtain a search warrant for a related residence.
Inside the property, authorities report finding a 55 gallon drum connected to water lines, unknown chemicals under analysis, large amounts of ammunition, and additional fraudulent law enforcement identification cards.
Because of the scope and nature of the evidence, the FBI was brought in to assist with processing and examining the scene.
The case took another turn when police reported that a female passenger in the vehicle was carrying identification matching her appearance, but the identity on the card reportedly belonged to a person who had been missing for several years.
Authorities say they are now examining whether there is any connection between the recovered items and potential missing persons leads, while stressing that no conclusions have been confirmed.
Eugene Horish is currently facing charges tied to illegal firearms and drug possession as forensic testing continues on materials recovered from the property.
The investigation remains active with multiple agencies involved as they work to determine the full scope of the case.
