WASHINGTON DC Firefighters extinguished a fire at an electrical substation in NW Washington, D.C., on Wed, preventing the flames from spreading to nearby buildings, according to D.C. Fire and EMS. The fire was reported in the 2100 block of N St NW around 6:19 p.m., where crews responded to find smoke coming from the roof of the 2-story electrical substation. D.C. Fire and EMS said firefighters found a fire involving a capacitor bank on the roof. The blaze was extinguished and contained without extending to adjacent buildings. No injuries or resident displacements were reported.
