-The Hawk Fire has reached 8,020 acres per the National Interagency Fire Center, up from about 2,500 earlier
-Washoe County has expanded evacuations, with the fire pushing northeast
-Truckee Meadows Fire Chief Richard Edwards called it a very dynamic incident driven entirely by the wind
-He said wind-driven fires move rapidly into residential areas, making it hard for crews to save homes and protect lives
The chief's advice matters more than the acreage: go when you're told, and have a bag ready by the door.

🇺🇸🛩🌊 Holy shit! Someone near South Beach Park in Boca Raton, Florida, recorded a plane flying past as it made an emergency landing in the water.
The solo pilot, 23-year-old Faith Tenkley, experienced mechanical failures, including an electrical issue and engine problems, during a flight from Fort Myers to Bimini.
When she realized she probably wasn’t going to make it to an airport, she opted for a controlled ocean landing and escaped without injury.
The plane was not so lucky… it was last seen sinking into the water.
