Four Algerian Air Force (AAF) Su-30MKAs, accompanied by an Il-78 aerial refueling aircraft, arrived at Niamey Airport in Niger today.
The deployment comes after a military mutiny at Air Base 101 in Niamey was reportedly thwarted over the weekend. Algeria has since demonstrated strong support for Niger’s authorities, with the Chief of Staff of the Algerian People’s National Army, First Lieutenant General Saïd Chengriha, arriving in the Nigerien capital on Sunday.

Earlier today, U.S. forces struck two Iranian launchers on Larak Island that were allegedly preparing to launch missiles carrying naval mines into the Strait of Hormuz.
Iranian sources reported two people killed and two critically injured, with the condition of the wounded deteriorating.
Around two hours later, the IRGC launched a retaliatory strike using Kheibar Shekan ballistic missiles and Shahed-136 loitering munitions against King Hussein and Muwaffaq Salti air bases in Jordan.
Between 12 and 15 ballistic missiles were reportedly launched, with eight intercepted.
