A 12-story building that was under construction collapsed on a house in the Penha neighborhood, in São Paulo, Brazil.
The accident left at least 2 women dead, one of them pregnant, and several people missing.

Dozens of earthquakes struck Southern California on Saturday — with a major cluster concentrated in South LA.
The sudden burst included a 2.7-mag quake in Westmont around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, followed by a 2.6-mag temblor in the same area around 4:30 p.m., according to the USGS.
More than 60 quakes in total hit the area, with many coming in at under mag 2.0.
Farther out, a pair of earthquakes were recorded SE of Catalina Island within minutes of each other just before 4:15 a.m.
The surge occurred as a 3.4-mag quake struck in the Bay Area overnight Saturday, and after a 3.2-mag tremor rattled South LA less than a week ago.
The burst comes as a new study reignited concerns over the San Andreas Fault that runs through California, with experts warning the catastrophic "Big One" may strike sooner than previously thought.

A natural gas leak forced the evacuation of 4 West Brighton homes and closed down part of Forest Ave Saturday evening.
About 80 firefighters from 16 units responded at about 6:30 p.m. to the scene, which was near Forest Ave and Raymond Pl in West Brighton, as National Grid with heavy construction equipment searched for the source of the leak.
Forest Ave was closed to traffic from Manor Rd to Clove Rd for the emergency.
As of 7 p.m., firefighters with gas detection tools were continuously checking nearby manholes for signs of natural gas.

Ciudad del Carmen, Mexico
The Gulf of Mexico oil spill detected on Thurs, Sept 10, 2026, has prompted Mexico to launch a large-scale maritime response north of Ciudad del Carmen, Campeche.
The leak occurred at Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) offshore facilities, approx 46 nautical miles north of Ciudad del Carmen.
Pemex said the leak was detected after a drop in pressure in a subsea crude-collection pipeline connected to the Ek-TA, Balam-TA, Balam-A, Balam-TB, and Balam-TA2 platforms.
The company has not publicly disclosed the total volume of crude released, the exact duration of the leak, or the full size of the oil slick.
Pemex has stated that there have been no reported injuries among personnel and that no damage has been reported along nearby beaches.
Specialized diving teams have located the point where the pipeline lost containment.
