FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida

A popular hotel in Fort Lauderdale had a piece of its building fall off on Sunday.

Local 10 News cameras captured the Fort Lauderdale Grand Hotel’s front overhang, with a large piece of it appearing to have fallen on the ground.

The area outside the hotel was blocked off by yellow police tape and parking cones.

Fire rescue crews said they responded to the scene on Sunday morning. Officials said there were no reported injuries.

There is no word on the cause of the damage or what measures will be taken to repair it.

SHELBY, Montana

A multi-car train derailment near Highway 2 in Shelby Monday morning prompted the immediate closure of surrounding roads and the evacuation of a nearby school.

BNSF confirmed the derailment occurred at approximately 6:39 a.m. inside a rail yard in Shelby.

"About 6 cars derailed. 3 of them flipped on their side. We called everybody out. City got the roads blocked off … ”

Among the derailed cars — one carrying propane, one carrying a full load of diesel, and 2 others carrying gasoline and diesel that were nearly empty. The propane car did not flip but came off the rails.

Authorities shut down businesses within a half mile and closed Roosevelt Highway as a precaution.

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama

A train derailment Monday in Tuscaloosa has closed Greensboro Ave at 16th St.

Tuscaloosa Police said the road will be closed through Friday as crews repair damage to the railroad track.
