Chicago’s mayor got DESTROYED 50-0 on a property tax hike and he’s already lining up a third try.
Council killed his next $600 million package in committee before it even reached the floor, then passed a $16.6 billion budget over his objections.
He wouldn’t veto it and he wouldn’t sign it either. Now his own office is projecting an $882 million hole for 2027, $401 million of it from police misconduct settlements, with spending jumping another 8% in a single year.
But Johnson keeps coming back to the same homeowners because that’s the last pocket that hasn’t already walked.
