Water wars are heating up

Kharg Island is Iran’s most important oil export terminal, a small rocky outpost in the Persian Gulf that handles over 90% of the country’s crude shipments, with storage for more than 28 million barrels and deep-water piers for giant supertankers.

Now Iran is rushing troops, air defenses, and mines to fortify it, while the US is moving Marine Expeditionary Units and amphibious ships toward the area, raising the possibility of a blockade or ground operation.

If Kharg falls or gets shut down, Iran’s oil revenue basically disappears overnight.

This tiny island could decide how long the regime lasts.

Australia truckers are running out of diesel:

“I’ve been driving for about 500km not a drop of diesel anywhere.”

Trucks are getting stranded. When trucks can’t make their deliveries, stores run out of food and other products.

Supply chains are breaking down in Asia and Australia with oil blocked in the Persian Gulf.

Just so you know, the grounds that burned in Nebraska, almost all of it was rangeland. (Pasture ground)

Everyone should be planting something this summer. Keep stacking!

🟩 Total acres burned
~827,000 acres burned across the four major fires (Morrill, Cottonwood, Road 203, Anderson Bridge).

Other reports list ~832,000 acres statewide.

These numbers are consistent across all sources.

🌾 How much was pasture/rangeland? (The vast majority)
✔️ Sandhills = grassland
The Nebraska Sandhills are:

19,000+ square miles of grassland

~95% used for beef production (grazing)

The fires burned directly through this region.

✔️ Reports explicitly say the fires destroyed grazing land
“Many of those acres are ranch land for livestock.”

“Heavily impacting grassland and pasture.”

“Over half a million acres of grazing land lost.”

🟦 Estimated pasture/rangeland burned
Using the above:

At least 500,000–600,000 acres were confirmed grazing land.

Likely 700,000+ acres when including all Sandhills‑region fires.

This is because the Sandhills contain almost no row‑crop ground — the soil is too sandy to farm.

🌽 How much was crop ground? (Very little)
None of the reports mention significant crop losses.
Why?

✔️ The Sandhills are not farm country
Almost all land is native prairie, not cropland.

Corn, soybeans, and wheat are grown outside the Sandhills.

✔️ Fire locations were in counties dominated by rangeland
Morrill, Cherry, Thomas, Lincoln, and surrounding counties are 90–99% grassland.

🟫 Estimated crop acres burned
Based on land‑use maps and fire perimeters:

Likely under 5% of the burned area

Rough estimate: 20,000–40,000 acres of cropland at most

Could be even less depending on exact fire boundaries

Yet more fertilizer production drops offline as Australia's biggest fert producer is damaged, shut down for 2mo.:

The Yara Pilbara plant accounts for 5% of globally traded ammonia. Stunning timing which, in concert with the symphony of other disruptions, is setting us up for very real effects on global crop yields.

Plays right into the planned food crisis 🤔

War on farmers
Forwarded from Doomsday shortages
"Everyone is focused on oil prices. A new Morgan Stanley report shows the real supply chain threat nobody is talking about.

The Middle East controls 45% of global sulphur, the key input for fertilizer production. It also controls 22% of urea, ammonia, and diammonium phosphate, the nutrients that feed global crop yields. These supply chains are now under direct fire from active warfare.

This isn't the 2022 fertilizer crisis where sanctions slowly squeezed supply. This is missiles hitting infrastructure in real time. Nine critical commodities, from crude oil (34%) to helium (33%) to aluminum (24%), all running through a warzone.

The food price shock is coming."

🌐⛽️ - The sulfuric acid shortage caused by the Iran war is now threatening commodity production.

Sulfuric acid is essential to extract metals from rock. The market was already tight, with prices up ~500% even before the conflict. The Middle East accounts for ~24% of global sulfur production, and producers typically hold only a few weeks to 2 months of supply.

Without sulfuric acid, production drops.

Around 20% of global copper, ~50% of uranium, and ~30% of nickel production depend directly on it.

With critical energy infrastructure being destroyed, these shortages won’t disappear even if the Strait is reopened... they will persist.
