Bodycam Footage Shows Fatal Police Shooting After Vehicle Pursuit in Chicago
Bodycam footage released by Chicago police shows officers pursuing a vehicle driven by Derek Jordan, who they say was a suspect in an earlier shooting. Police allege Jordan attempted to ram officers by striking a bus and unmarked squad cars during the pursuit. Officers can be heard warning he would be shot if he did not exit the vehicle; when he did not comply, an officer fired into the car, striking him. Jordan was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Jordan’s family has retained attorneys from George Floyd’s case, alleging officers failed to de-escalate the situation and used excessive force. Following the incident, the officer involved was removed from active duty and reassigned to the department’s Alternate Response Section pending review.

NEW: The man who walked in front of a Frontier plane, which nearly ended in catastrophe for the passengers, had 20 previous arrests, including for attempted murder.
41-year-old Michael Mott's most recent arrest was just one month before he trespassed at the airport.
In 2005, Mott was arrested for attempted murder with a gun. He later pleaded down to second-degree assault and was sentenced to just 6 years in prison.
He was also charged with felony assault using a weapon during his time in prison.
When he got out of prison, he continued to commit crimes, including felony assault on a peace officer and domestic violence, along with other crimes, according to the New York Post.
