MARCELLUS, New York Thousands of people in Marcellus were without electric power Monday evening. About 2,100 customers in the village and town of Marcellus had lost power as of 8 p.m., according to New York State Electric & Gas. That’s nearly 3 in 4 utility customers in the village and town. Power is expected to be restored at about 10:45 p.m., the utility company said. Multiple people reported a possible explosion at about 7:15 p.m. at a utility company facility on Scotch Hill Road, according to dispatches from the Onondaga County 911 Center. AMMON, Idaho Eastern Idaho Railroad is investigating a train derailment that happened in Ammon over the weekend. In an email to EastIdahoNews.com http://EastIdahoNews.com/, railway spokeswoman Tracie VanBecelaere says it happened on Friday at 11:20 a.m. Witnesses say it happened near Mountain Valley Elementary at 2601 S Princess Dr on the rail line parallel to Ross Ave bw Wanda St & Sunnyside Rd.
