LANCASTER, Ohio A transformer fire has knocked out power to downtown Lancaster, forcing the closure of city streets and leaving major intersections without working traffic lights, according to the Lancaster PD. The PD announced in a social media post Saturday evening that its own headquarters is among the facilities currently without electricity. Officials say they have closed the 100 block of S Broad St and the alley adjacent to the police station while crews respond to the scene. According to dept officials, utility crews have not provided an estimated timeframe for when power will be restored.
