Here's what it takes just to be able to vote in Indian elections assuming you have no status there today:
-Can speak one of the national languages
-Have no criminal history
-Have lived in the country for 12 (yes, twelve) years
-Denounce all other citizenships
And even then, as the poster below demonstrates they'll never see you as an Indian, just a foreigner living in India
...sounds like a pretty good way for us to run our country too!
