🇫🇷 Firefighters in the south of France are battling to bring several wildfires under control with conditions made worse by the recent heatwave, combined with high winds. Two fires are raging on the outskirts of Marseille. A massive wildfire in Canet-en-Roussillon area.

More than 250 bungalows have burned in three campsites and 2000 people evacuated. Two firefighters are injured.

Forecasters have warned that another spell of extreme heat is on the way next week.

DUNDALK, Maryland An 8” water main break caused a sinkhole in Dundalk early Thursday morning, officials confirmed. The incident occurred at 8278 Kavanagh Road on July 2. STRINGTOWN, Oklahoma The upper railroad crossing at SH-43E/East Reba McEntire Ave and the lower crossing at South Bond St in Stringtown are closed due to a train derailment. The roads are closed until further notice, according to the Stringtown PD. Atoka Co Sheriff Kody Simpson said no one was injured in the incident. GETTYSBURG, Pennsylvania Dozens of units were called Thursday morning to an Adams Co power plant, according to dispatch. The call came in around 7:09 a.m. at the 1700 block of Hunterstown Rd, where a fire was still actively burning, dispatch told CBS 21. There were no reported injuries, nor was anyone said to be trapped inside the building. The skies over parts of Venezuela have turned a sinister blood-red just days after the region endured back-to-back deadly earthquakes.

Videos and photos taken from Caracas on June 30 captured the ominous scene, showing a sky glowing an intense crimson red as the sun dipped below the horizon.

Social media users questioned if the colored sky was linked to the deadly earthquake that had recently struck the region.

The timing sparked theories ranging from mysterious 'earthquake lights' to biblical signs, as many likened it to Joel 2:30-31, which describes the 'Day of the Lord', which is a time of God's coming judgment and power.

'And I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and columns of smoke. The sun shall be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the great and awesome day of the Lord comes,' read the verses.

However, experts said the dramatic display was caused by much more ordinary phenomena.
