A heavy rain event on Monday, June 29, 2026, caused 4 washouts on M-119 in Emmet Co.

The scenic roadway with views of Lake Michigan is famously known as the Tunnel of Trees.

There are now 6 washouts (including 2 from April) along the 22-mile stretch bw Harbor Springs and Cross Village.

A massive fire broke out in a naphtha-carrying pipeline at Haldia Petrochemicals Limited (HPL) in West Bengal early Tuesday morning, leaving at least 15 people injured.

The incident occurred between 4:00 am and 5:00 am, when flames suddenly erupted from the pipeline.

The fire was so intense that several workers present in the area suffered burn injuries.
