The dramatic scene, made even more unusual by low-hanging clouds, prompted widespread speculation, with many wondering if it signalled something ominous.
The timing intensified public concern, as Venezuela is still recovering from the devastating twin earthquakes that struck on June 24, reportedly claiming nearly 2,000 lives. Some users on X interpreted the crimson sky as a warning of further disaster. One post urged Venezuelans to "cry out to God" and seek forgiveness, while others described the phenomenon as a sign of death or even the apocalypse.
