MAHOPAC, New York 3 families were displaced Mon after a basement wall collapsed at a multi-family apartment building on See Ave in Mahopac. The Mahopac VFD was dispatched at about 12:30 p.m. along with the Carmel PD on a report of a structural collapse.  Firefighters found that a front basement cinder block wall had collapsed inward, causing the building's front entry porch to sag several inches.  To safely evacuate the one resident who was in the building at the time and on the second floor, firefighters placed timber planks across the gap bw the front entrance and stable ground.  The Carmel Building Dept determined the structure was unsafe for occupancy and condemned the building.  https://news.halstonmedia.com/mahopac-news/stories/wall-collapse-displaces-three-mahopac-families,86805

CAIRO, Illinois The U.S. 51 Ohio River “Cairo” Bridge is closed until further notice. The Cairo Bridge connects Wickliffe, KY & Cairo, IL. According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet on Monday, July 6, crews are inspecting the bridge after a citizen reported “a noticeable change to the bridge deck.” Inspectors will be evaluating the bridge span.
