βThe people made worse off by slavery were those who were enslaved. Their descendants would have been worse off today if born in Africa instead of America. Put differently, the terrible fate of their ancestors benefitted them.β
β Thomas Sowell
The fact is that black people in the West enjoy living standards higher than any black population anywhere else on earth or at any time in history, and the gap is enormous.
Black American households clear median incomes over $50k with life expectancies around 74, plus routine access to cars, housing, modern medicine, education, and technology that would register as extraordinary luxury for the vast majority of black people still living in sub-Saharan Africa, where GDP per capita often sits below $2,500 and average lifespans run a decade shorter amid weaker institutions, higher disease loads, and lower productivity.
Black populations in Canada and parts of Europe show the same pattern of outsized gains once inside Western systems.
Those outcomes track the spread of property rights, rule of law, scientific method, and market economies that the West uniquely scaled and sustained, lifting even the descendants of slaves far above the material baseline that prevailed across most of historical Africa or that still prevails across much of the continent today.
The ancestors endured hell, yet their forced relocation placed later generations inside the single civilizational machine capable of generating and distributing that kind of broad prosperity at scale.
βYet rather than count those blessings we now count our grievances instead.β

BREAKING: De Beers dramatically reduced diamond prices across all categories
Prices are now in line with the secondary market, down from the 5%-50% premium that De Beers maintained
That move follows a pullback in Chinese luxury spending and the rising popularity of lab-grown stones

Reform UK's Nigel Farage resigns as MP β vows to force a by-election
"This will be a people versus the establishment by-election. It's a chance to stick two fingers up to the entire establishment, to frankly tell them where to go.
And that is why I will be putting my name forward to stand in this by-election"
What do you think will happen here?

Boys constantly argue while they play, but they usually resolve the dispute quickly and keep on playing. In contrast, among girls, arguments often bring the game to an end and even the friendship; many head home if things don't go their way, and there's little effort to resolve the conflict. Additionally, girls also have more difficulty sorting out matters like choosing teams, deciding who's captain, which team starts
