The incident occurred when an SUV ran over several people around the Caupolican fair in the Achupallas sector of the city. A fatal accident occurred on the morning of Sunday, July 12, when a car caused a tragic mass hit-and-run, leaving six people dead, seven others injured, and five adults and two eight-month-old infants injured.
The driver was arrested by Carabineros (Chilean police) after incidents to prevent a lynching attempt by witnesses to the accident. Authorities are investigating the incident.
