The U.S. landed a C-17 Globemaster III transport plane at Moscow's Vnukovo Airport today.

Unconfirmed reports indicate the mission may be connected to an upcoming trip by Sec. Hegseth.
While the C-17 is often used to move personnel, vehicles, and equipment ahead of senior-level travel, it’s also used as transportation for Hegseth on sensitive or unannounced missions.
The plane had flown direct from Riga, Latvia, and landed in Moscow at around 0700 GMT.
It arrived in Riga on Friday from Joint Base Andrews, near Washington, D.C.
It is unclear whether it carried any cargo or passengers.
The last direct flight of a U.S.-registered jet to Russia from Europe took place in January of this year, carrying special envoys Witkoff and Kushner.
