Major disruptions are expected to continue affecting A, B, C and D train service through at least Mon afternoon, according to the MTA.
The disruptions came after routine weekend track work uncovered cracks underneath the trackbed at W 81st St and Central Park West, prompting crews to continue repair work through the Mon morning commute.
The MTA said the additional maintenance work will keep downtown local trains bw 125th St and 59th St-Columbus Circle out of service into the afternoon.
Crews are demolishing and replacing tracks in the area, which requires significant shoring because of the cracks underneath the trackbed, according to the transit agency.
Temporary maintenance was performed Sun night and Mon morning, while permanent repairs will be scheduled for a later date.

Libya’s Sirte & nearby Hawara were plunged into a total blackout around midnight.
The cause of the latest outage had not been identified, according to the Libyan News Agency.
The blackout came on the same day as a sudden disruption in the western electricity grid, which caused a partial blackout after several major transmission circuits went out of service, the General Electricity Company of Libya said.
The company said the disruption occurred at around 1:28 a.m, when the 400-kilovolt Misrata-Khoms circuit and the Bir al-Ghanam-Ruwais circuit went offline.
The loss of the transmission lines caused the grid frequency to fall sharply from 50 hertz to about 47.5 hertz within a short period, creating an imbalance bw electricity generation and demand.
That imbalance resulted in a partial blackout across the western section of Libya’s power network, according to the company.
