They don't want us to be self sufficient and grow our own food. They're getting rid of all means to be able to plant a fruit or vegetable. They're getting rid of seeds and now doing this.

Why? The government wants us all dependent on them so we do, whatever they want us to.

The Price of Power Sovereignty Just Went Up
The price of freedom just went up. In a move that reads like a coordinated assault on self-reliance, the Trump administration has signed a Section 232 executive order that will effectively double or triple the cost of solar panels for everyday Americans in 2027. The policy creates a minimum import price for polysilicon derivatives and slaps a new 15% tariff on them, a hammer blow aimed squarely at anyone who dares to generate their own electricity.

My recommendation to people who are struggling with gardening and growing your own food for any reason is to get into making yourself a well stocked heirloom seedbank. Obviously you want to learn how to grow the plants you are stocking seeds for. Even if you can't get more land don't beat yourself up or give up. You might get some land one day where it will be an excellent place to grow and be self-sufficient. Maybe not.

Also don't be discouraged because you see people able to provide for themselves with just a few raise beds and hanging pots and you can't, yet. Just do what you can to help offset some of what you need to buy. Plus you know exactly what has gone into the food you are about to eat.

I can tell you all how easy it is to screw up, because I do it. I even got out of gardening for a few years from a big failure I had one season. It sucked because I have quite the green thumb but even those who do it seemingly effortlessly have screwed up and will screw up again. Like anything it takes time and practice. Unfortunately gardening and farming has seasons, and well, you can't just start over but learn and do better next year.

However, one way you can try and learn, with more expense initially is get into hydroponics or even just pots inside which you can grow year round. Practice and mess with fertilizers. Test soils, amendments and so on. Learn how to train plants, this is a BIG one. The time you put in now even with less than a perfect setup will go a long way. Who knows if SHTF you can probably go move to a piece of land once owned, protect it, and now you have a new homestead :)
