On September 15, severe thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rain, hail, and gusty winds struck Durban and other areas of the KwaZulu-Natal province, South Africa. Localized flooding occurred on city roads, including sections of the N3 highway near the Tollgate Bridge. Flooded areas were also reported in the Clairwood, Merebank, and Wentworth neighborhoods.
In southern Durban, heavy hail fell for approximately 10–15 minutes while traffic was moving along the N2 highway. Authorities issued warnings regarding reduced visibility, slippery roads, and the potential for further localized flooding.
The South African Weather Service issued a Level 2 (yellow) warning for severe thunderstorms across the southern and eastern parts of KwaZulu-Natal. A warning for damaging winds was also in effect for the northwestern and north-central regions of the province, with sustained wind speeds of 40–50 km/h and gusts reaching 80–85 km/h.

On September 15, heavy rains affected several regions of India, with the most significant impacts observed in the states of Gujarat and Karnataka.
In Gujarat, particularly heavy rainfall occurred in the Kutch district—one of the state's most arid areas. Prior to these rains, the district had been experiencing a seasonal rainfall deficit of approximately 70%. Anjar recorded 184 mm of rain in 24 hours, the highest amount in the state for that period. Mandvi received about 177 mm in eight hours, with roughly 127 mm falling in just two hours.
In Dholka (Ahmedabad district), residential neighborhoods and roads were flooded following two days of rain. Rainfall totals included 155 mm in Vallabhipur, 142 mm in Jamnagar, 140 mm in Borsad, and 138 mm in Una.
In Karnataka, a severe thunderstorm struck Bengaluru in the evening. By 7:30 PM, the highest rainfall totals were recorded in Koramangala (70 mm), New BEL Road (47 mm), R.T. Nagar (46 mm).
