Council killed his next $600 million package in committee before it even reached the floor, then passed a $16.6 billion budget over his objections.
He wouldnβt veto it and he wouldnβt sign it either. Now his own office is projecting an $882 million hole for 2027, $401 million of it from police misconduct settlements, with spending jumping another 8% in a single year.

πΊπΈ Deranged man with a homemade βflamethrowerβ barricades himself in a sex shop and burns a police dog before lighting himself on fire. The suspect was reportedly smashing car windshields in San Diego, California, before a foot pursuit led him to run into a store called Adult Emporium.
Officers tried to approach the man, but he lit himself on fire, prompting the officers to use lethal force. Police K9 Ryder suffered burn injuries to his face but was released from the vet several hours after the incident and is expected to make a full recovery.
