CHURUBUSCO, Ind. — A truck crash has forced the closure of U.S. 33 in both directions just north of Churubusco, and a specialized team has been called in for clean-up because of the nature of the cargo the truck was hauling.
According to the Whitley County Emergency Management Agency, the truck, which belongs to Waste Management, rolled into a ditch at around 8:20 a.m. in the 6000 block of North U.S. 33. It was carrying dead ducks from various Maple Leaf Duck Farms facilities in northern Indiana that had been infected with bird flu.
