On March 27, 2026, a Multi-Role Enforcement Aircraft from the Caribbean Air and Marine Branch detected a homemade yola-type vessel carrying multiple migrants off the coast of Puerto Rico.

A mix of Dominican and Haitian nationals totaling 53 migrants were apprehended. The vessel was dangerously overcrowded and had no safety equipment.
