A gas station robbery goes wrong: The robber snatches the service weapon from a police officer and shoots him.
The Turkish origin man (19) executed the police officer with 17 shots and was convicted only of aggravated robbery. He had suffered from massive fear during his escape after a gas station robbery.
While the perpetrator was still partially able to recognize that he was doing something wrong, this was no longer the case with the fatal shots afterwards. According to the judge, these fell in a state of guilt. The defendant had been possessed by massive fear during the police operation as a result of his paranoid schizophrenia. "Fear had taken over his thinking," the judge explained.
He does not go to prison; he is committed to a psychiatric facility.
