Lagos, Nigeria The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) said the gas pipeline fire that occurred along Agege Motor Road, Ile Zik inward Agege, has been successfully extinguished, with no casualty recorded. The Head of Public Affairs, LASEMA, Mr Olawale Afolabi, confirmed the development on Monday in Lagos. Afolabi said the incident involved a gas pipeline belonging to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.). He said the LASEMA Eagle Response Team arrived at the scene at about 3:13 a.m. following distress calls received through the 767 and 112 emergency toll-free lines. According to him, responders met the gas pipeline engulfed in flames on arrival, while the cause of the incident is still under investigation. A hotel owner in Gatlinburg, Tennessee called 911 after reporting someone was locked in a bathroom only for authorities to discover the unexpected intruder was a black bear.
