The man with an actual penis on his arm.
Malcolm MacDonald, a British mechanic from Norfolk, UK, suffered a severe perineal infection that led to sepsis. This caused tissue death (necrosis) in his extremities, including his fingers, toes, and penis, which turned black and eventually fell off.
Doctors at University College London Hospital constructed a replacement phallus (a "bionic penis") using skin grafts, veins, and tissue from his body. To keep it alive and allow it to develop blood supply and sensation, they initially grafted it onto his left forearm.
Due to complications (including low oxygen levels in his blood), scheduling issues, staff shortages, and delays from the COVID-19 pandemic, it remained there for about six years (reports vary slightly between 4–6 years depending on the timeline).
He finally had it surgically moved to his groin area around 2021–2022, as detailed in a Channel 4 documentary The Man with a Penis on His Arm. MacDonald has spoken publicly about the experience, including awkward moments like it falling out of his sleeve while shopping or using it to hold darts.
