According to police, the 17-year-old was swimming with his friends in the Rockaways when he disappeared.

NEW: Man in a Pink Panther costume accused of “hunting” down kids in Virginia, nearly snatched a girl.

The predator was seen following a group of kids who had just gotten off the school bus in Frdericksburg.

“This man stared down my son and one of the older neighbors from across the road. That’s when this picture was snapped,” a parent said on Facebook.

“When scarlet and a little neighbor girl got off the bus, he chased after all 4 kids and tried to grab the little girl … her sister pulled her away and they got away.”

Fredericksburg Police are asking the public to report any suspicious activity to authorities.
