Describe a time someone gave you money as a gift.
• When you received money
• Who the person was
• Why he/she gave you money
And how did you feel about the gift.

Let me tell you about the time my parents gave me some money as a present.
So you know during Tet holiday, adults often give children red envelopes with paper
money inside. Traditionally, these notes are a bless for a new year of good health, luck
and happiness. However, this custom has become something ugly as many children do
not understand such gestures and think of these gifts as nothing more than some extra
pocket money. I was no exception.
For years, my parents have always been the most generous people when it comes to the
amount of money I received in these red envelopes. Sometimes they gave me a million
VND, which was like a fortune to a kid at the time. However, about five to six years ago,
when I received a two dollar note, which was about 40 thousand VND, from my parent’s
envelope, I was super disappointed. No further explanations were given for the lost of
the lion share of my “income” during Tet that year.
Once I have to start giving out money, I begin to understand what my parents was
trying to teach me. Kids need to realize that lucky money are only meant for good
luck. I hated to see that the first thing many kids do after receiving my envelopes is to
immediately check how much they “earn”. My future kids, therefore, should not expect
a thick envelope from me during Tet.
Writing Task 2 - 11 October

Some people think students should work part time while studying, but others think they should only study.

Writing Task 2 - 11 October Some people think students should work part time while studying, but others think they should only study. Discuss both views and give your opinion about which option is best.
Some people argue that students should take part-time jobs while studying, whereas others believe their attention should be devoted entirely to education. Although employment can provide valuable experience, I think students should work only when it does not interfere with their studies.

A job can help students become financially independent and reduce pressure on their families. Earning even a modest wage can cover transport, books and personal expenses, giving students greater control over their budgets. It also teaches practical skills that classrooms may not provide, such as communication, time management and responsibility. For example, a student working in a shop learns to deal with customers and colleagues, which may be useful in a future career. Part-time work can therefore make graduates more employable.

However, studying requires substantial time and concentration. Students who work long hours may become tired, miss classes or have too little time to complete assignments. This can lower their grades and limit their understanding of important subjects. These risks are particularly serious during examinations or in demanding courses such as medicine and engineering. In addition, some students may feel pressured to accept excessive shifts because they need the income.

In my view, education should remain a student's main priority, but a carefully chosen part-time job can be beneficial. Students should work a limited number of hours, ideally in flexible roles that fit around their timetable. Those who can afford not to work should use their free time for study, rest and extracurricular activities instead. Overall, part-time employment is worthwhile only when it supports, rather than undermines, academic success.

The Impact of Smartphones on Students’ Education
People have different views as to whether smartphones have a positive impact on students’ education or whether they distract students from learning. While both perspectives have their own merits, I believe that the educational benefits of smartphones outweigh their potential drawbacks.
One of the main advantages of smartphones is that they allow students to access information instantly. This can be attributed to the fact that learners can use a wide range of online platforms, which can enhance their academic performance. For example, platforms such as Khan Academy and Ibrat Farzandlari offer valuable educational resources and English lessons, helping students broaden their knowledge and develop critical-thinking skills. As a result, students can not only improve their academic performance but also acquire skills that will benefit their future careers.
However, smartphones also have some notable disadvantages. One major drawback is that they can distract students from learning, which can potentially lead to lower academic achievement. Another concern is that students may become overly dependent on their gadgets, thereby wasting valuable time on non-educational activities. For instance, spending excessive time on social media or playing mobile games may prevent students from concentrating on their studies. Consequently, their academic progress may suffer.
In conclusion, although smartphones can distract students and negatively affect their academic performance, I believe that their educational benefits outweigh these drawbacks. When used responsibly, smartphones can serve as valuable tools for learning and personal development.

Sleep Without Switching Off
For
For humans, sleep is simple: lie down, close your eyes and switch off for the night. For many animals, switching off completely would be dangerous. A sleeping animal cannot watch for predators, search for food or, in some cases, even breathe. Over millions of years, different species have found surprising solutions, and their habits show that sleep is far more flexible than we once thought.
Dolphins offer the best-known example. Because they must rise to the surface to breathe, they cannot fall into the deep sleep that humans enjoy. Instead, they rest one half of the brain at a time, a pattern known as unihemispheric sleep. While one half sleeps, the other stays alert, and the eye connected to the sleeping half closes. Research on captive dolphins and killer whales suggests that mothers and their newborn calves sleep very little during the first weeks after birth, perhaps because the calves need constant protection.
Birds have developed similar tricks. Studies of ducks found that birds at the edge of a group keep the eye facing outward open while the matching half of the brain stays awake, so the group has a lookout without anyone staying fully awake. The most extreme case may be the frigatebird, a seabird that can spend days or even weeks flying over the ocean. In 2016, researchers fitted wild frigatebirds with small devices that recorded brain activity. The birds slept in the air for very short periods, adding up to about forty minutes a day, compared with more than twelve hours when they were on land.
Bugun Samarqandda amerikalik tadbirkorlar ishtirokida bo‘lib o‘tayotgan anjumandan yana bir xulosa chiqadi: ingliz tilini bilish — bugungi kun talabi.

Yurtdoshlarimiz, ayniqsa, savdo-sotiq, xizmat ko‘rsatish va mehmonxona sohalarida ishlaydiganlar chet ellik mehmonlar bilan ingliz tilida erkin muloqot qila olishi muhim. Bu yil Gruziyaga borganimda oddiy ofitsiantning ham ingliz tilida bemalol gaplashayotganiga guvoh bo‘ldim.

O‘zbekistonda esa qariyb 30 yildan beri ingliz tilini o‘rgatishga katta e’tibor qaratilmoqda. Shunga qaramay, ko‘plab xizmat ko‘rsatish joylarida ingliz tilida erkin muloqot qila oladigan xodimlarni uchratish qiyin. Eng achinarlisi, ayrim ingliz tili ustozlarimizning o‘zlari ham bu tilda bemalol suhbatlasha olmaydi.

Xo‘sh, muammo nimada? Ingliz tilini o‘rgatish usullaridami, amaliyot yetishmasligidami yoki til o‘rganishga bo‘lgan yondashuvimizdami? Sizningcha, bu vaziyatni o‘zgartirish uchun nimalar qilish kerak?
