I am going to make this nice and clear.
Nodes prune. Any old transaction, any old data, anything that has been spent can be pruned.
Equally, this does not mean that nodes need to prune. However, you cannot guarantee that your data will not be pruned. Nodes (note, nodes are exclusively miners) have the option of keeping or removing data at will. There is a section in my White Paper if you don’t understand this.
Equally, nodes can maintain a complete copy if they so choose. They can equally require payment for access. There is no requirement to distribute the entire Blockchain. In section 7 on page 4 of my White Paper, the reclaiming of disk space may be achieved by removing old spent transactions and even the branches. Block headers can be kept in memory and no more.
The development of overlay networks allows for the complete history to be maintained for limited subsets of the entire Blockchain. This will allow individual token issuers including some of the people on here to have a limited copy of the Blockchain that only serves their clients or people on their token system. Honestly, I really don’t understand why people think you need to validate everyone else’s transactions.

I wrote the code in 2007.
It was incomplete, the settings only became fixed in Dec 2008
The paper was in Many iterations
The last PoW version was in 2008.
It was released in May 08, then Oct 08
Then Nov 08
Finally set in Feb 09
Some parts of the paper go to 2003
But, then it was a PoS system
It was stated that a Byzantine problem needs 2/3rds agreement
It always ends in this as an oligarchy

Bitcoin: A Peer-to-peer Electronic Cash System
An animated reading of the ground-breaking whitepaper that defined Bitcoin. Written by Dr Craig Wright, AKA Satoshi Nakamoto, the Bitcoin whitepaper outlines the principal design intent of the Bitcoin system and gives the reader a clear overview of the system…

How is the whitepaper decoded from the blockchain (Tx with ~1000x m of n multisig outputs)
The whitepaper is apparently encoded at 54e48e5f5c656b26c3bca14a8c95aa583d07ebe84dde3b7dd4a78f4e4186e713, which is an m of n multisig Tx with 947 outputs (just under the scriptsig limit of 20kB!).

In discussing privacy (Wright, 2008, p. 6), I discussed the need to limit access to financial information and only have exchanges conducted using the parties involved. Unfortunately, BTC Core and other broken copies of my software have ignored this. So, when you have an exchange of data between Alice and Bob and the index of that data restored on the Blockchain, you have my invention.
Alternatively, when you have communications between Alice, who sends to an intermediary such as a node operator giving out all her information and removing the privacy of her exchange with Bob, you don’t have any of the fundamental privacy aspects of bitcoin. In particular, the use of addresses, as we see commonly employed, was noted to be a backup methodology and not the primary way of distributing information across bitcoin. In fact, the methodology was to be depreciated over time.
When Alice and Bob communicate, they can send invoices and complex information around their contract negotiations that never need to be restricted to the Blockchain. This information can be hashed in the hash of the information and authenticate the documentation around the exchange. As Alice and Bob have done this directly, no record of the communication needs to be placed on the Blockchain outside of the final transaction that acts as an index to all communications that have occurred.
So, while the public sees the ticker tape summary, Alice and Bob completely understand the exchange and what has been bought and sold. If Alice wants to lodge records with the tax office for an expense, this can be validated against the sale done with Bob. While the nodes see the transaction record that Bob has indexed for everyone to check if needed, they receive no information concerning the exchange between Bob and Alice. Further, Bob can verify Alice’s identity, and Alice can verify Bob’s.
This is the nature of decentralisation that everyone seems to be missing. I did not state in my whitepaper that there is no identity. Rather, I explicitly state (Wright, 2008, p. 6) that the new privacy model firewalls identities. The distinction between how bitcoin works and the traditional privacy model involving trusted third parties is that small casual transactions can be done that do not require any public exchange of information concerning identity. This does not mean identity doesn’t exist. As stated, identity remains between the individuals engaged in the trade.

Seeing as people cannot understand basic English in the world any more...
I'm doing a long-term project to break down my White Paper literally and I mean literally line by line
I am going to point out the meaning of every word
every phrase
every term that I have used and the meaning of the sentence at a level that normal people who have graduated from high school should be able to understand
Right now, it seems that nobody does, or at least very little by very few
Please think about your statement.
You want me to hand it to someone else to detail the things that I understand and others seem not to...
thank you but honestly after fourteen years I thought a few more people would have got it
