If anyone wants to keep up with our research and development (R&D) and minimum viable product (MVP) work in Zambia, you can stay updated by following us on our website and Telegram Channel.
On August 12, 2024, we will have been working on the Zambia MVP for 36 months, and we are on mostly on track so far.
We are also working on a 10,000-hectare collaboration farm project, which may or may not come to fruition depending on whether the return on investment (ROI), return on efforts (ROEF), and return on personal timelines (ROPT) numbers work out. This is the biggest obstacle to initiating an international call to action for this business venture.
There is still a long way to go, but one thing is certain - farming numbers don't seem to align with the real world, and we welcome anyone who can correct our numbers. Without food, we can't sustain life, human energy, and progress. Therefore, we must treat farmers, staff, and agriculture with far more profound respect.
In Zambia, there are 600,000 new net lives after death every year. To feed the nation, 67,000 hectares of land are needed per year at a yield of 5 tons of food per hectare. Alternatively, 134 new farms of 500 hectares each must be established and invested in every year. Unfortunately, mathematically many countries are on the verge of starvation, and Zambia is no exception. However, Zambia is working hard to address this issue, and it has 74 million hectares of land to utilize. I had the opportunity to have in-depth discussions behind closed doors, I have loved my deeper welcoming discussions, Zambia is making progress towards a better future.
To sum up, at this stage, our numbers show generational businesses with low returns because farmers are not exposed to other comparable business sectors.
In my opinion, any business venture with an ROI of 15% or less compounding is not profitable. This is where we place our not-for-profit entities.
Personally, I don't get out of bed to pursue any investments with less than 30% equity.
If I am the driving force and creator of the project, I don’t work for less than 70% equity for my intellectual property (IP) and business development contributions.
The returns that I aim for my shareholders, government tax flows, and to ensure the client's excellence in ongoing development and service levels, range from 20% to 30% compounding. Otherwise, what's the point of investing? Don’t get out of bed…
I know that my ultimate investment in humanity is my dying heartbeats, the truest currency of the world.
Finally, I believe that the farmer's generation from just ten years ago cannot be compared to today's technology, costs, and business conditions.
