The UK government is trying to become a more digital state and blockchain can help ensure data remains secure and accessible only by those who should have access, which will give citizens greater confidence to trust the government going forward.
The UK recently revealed additional details of its ‘blueprint for modern digital government,’ first announced last year, regarding the introduction of digital IDs that the government hopes will streamline routine processes for both the state and the public.
gov.uk/government/pub…
By the end of 2027, digital credentials will open up an ever-growing variety of services, accelerating processes, cutting costs and reducing hassle. Services currently overseen by a variety of departments and agencies will be connected via a unified, simplified access point.
Among the first features coming to the new GOV.UK wallet & app will be digital driving licenses, one of the most popular methods of proving one’s identity. The technology will incorporate security features such as facial recognition checks.
gov.uk/government/new…
The government stressed that the new app will be—for the time being, at least—purely optional, but this is clearly the way the wind is blowing. Regardless, it will be interesting to see how swiftly the app is adopted … and how soon the first security issues are identified.
Let’s face it. Even giant corporations like Microsoft and Apple with their armies of engineers are often forced to rush out a software patch within days/weeks of a major new product release. But for governments, such slip-ups could prove fatal for adoption.
And that’s not even considering malicious actors both foreign and domestic seeking to exploit these treasure troves of extremely sensitive data. Stated simply, there’s an awful lot riding here for both the government and the citizens being asked to test drive this app.
Blockchain tech can offer additional levels of security for the data nestling behind this app. Decentralization means a less concentrated target for bad actors, while the immutability of blockchain-based data ensures that once inscribed, it cannot be altered.
Also, the visibility of blockchain-based transactions offers a guarantee of provenance that traditional data management tools can’t hope to provide. In short, there’s a lot of blockchain benefits here to consider, because the government is only going to get one shot at the public trust.
Obviously, given the goal is onboarding tens of millions of Brits, only blockchains that can store serious amounts of data need apply. Similarly, the volume of transactions associated with these millions of records will require fees that won’t break the Bank of England.
I’ll just leave this here…

Someone in our organization recently reminded me of a ‘manifesto’ I wrote ages ago. This got me thinking of the importance of establishing standards that give everyone the confidence to proceed with projects that rely on the goalposts not moving after the ball is kicked.
About a quarter-century ago, not long after the Bodog online gambling brand I’d launched a few years earlier had established itself as a player, I sat down at my desk with a Bombay Sapphire martini and composed a document that I sent to everyone at the company.
The document came to be known as ‘The Bombay Manifesto’ due to my having mentioned early on what I was drinking. Its intent was to celebrate our early success but also to remind everyone how much work lay ahead and my thoughts of how we might improve our user experience.
This included adopting certain basic principles, like a laser focus on quick-loading pages (graphic designers’ artistic ambitions shouldn’t trump users’ desire to get on with it) and requiring the barest minimum of clicks for users to get where they wanted to go.
I wanted customer service links in the same spot on every page, so anyone needing help automatically knew where to find it. I saw the site as our first level of customer service—make it smooth enough, clear enough and quick enough so there’s little need for additional guidance.
I also wanted every page on our site to somewhat mirror the others, so that users would feel ‘at home’ regardless of what they were trying to access. This kind of ‘standardization’ not only benefited customers, it streamlined our process of creating new pages.
Having hosted what was effectively an early internet ‘incubator’ in my pre-Bodog days, I came to understand the importance of the early imposition of standards for the world wide web (HTML, URL, HTTP) to individuals/companies trying to build internet projects.
Nobody builds a structure on ground that’s constantly shifting under their feet. I’m not religious, but even I know the Biblical line about building your house on rock, not sand. Those early web standards ensured its success by giving developers confidence that the rules wouldn’t change.
Once standards are established, you can introduce open-source tools that allow innovation to arise from anywhere and anyone with ambition and vision. This is the kind of democratization of access from which insanely great projects emerge.
The blockchain I support had the similar good sense to lock its protocol, ensuring that developers could build projects with confidence. Enterprise blockchain technology focuses on building practical use cases, which is why it will outperform and outlast the speculative-focused networks.
For the record, I’m writing this stone cold sober, but I’m just as convinced that my views are as correct as they proved to be when I wrote my last ‘manifesto.’ And now, if you’ll excuse me, there’s a cocktail with my name on it calling me.

The US-dollar stablecoin MNEE is now available for use on the BSV Blockchain, offering users the ability to make stablecoin payments instantly and more economically than on any other network.
This week, MNEE officially launched on 1Sat Ordinals, the implementation of Ordinals running on the BSV Blockchain. 1Sat Ordinals gives each individual satoshi (aka ‘sat’ or 1/100,000,000th of a Bitcoin) a serial number, creating a unique digital token.
MNEE uses the BSV-21 extension of Ordinals, which allows for corporate issuance of regulated fungible tokens. The base protocol is for non-fungible token (NFT) inscriptions, but the extension allows for fungible assets.
Ordinals became a boogeyman on bandwidth-constrained networks like BTC, because the images, videos and other data-intensive files attached to individual sats proved too cumbersome for a network that can barely handle regular transactions without clogging its narrow pipes.
BSV places no limit on the size of its individual blocks, allowing all relevant 1Sat Ordinals token data to be sent in a single transaction. And while the original Ordinals required a minimum output of 546 sats, the far more efficient 1Sat Ordinals requires only a single sat.
MNEE made its debut last spring on Ethereum, another network plagued by bandwidth constraints. Worse, Ethereum charges a ‘gas’ fee—payable in ETH, so if you don’t have any you have to buy some—to process transactions on its network.
MNEE on BSV is ‘gasless,’ meaning no extra fee is required simply to process a 1Sat Ordinals transaction. And with BSV’s network fees routinely clocking in at under 1/10th of a cent, transacting with MNEE on BSV is by far the most cost-effective stablecoin option available today.
(Before anyone suggests otherwise, while I have invested in many projects within the BSV ecosystem, I am not an investor in MNEE, nor was I involved in its creation. I’m just a fan of cool products and MNEE on BSV is cool AF.)
Fully collateralized 1:1 with U.S. T-bills and cash equivalents, MNEE on BSV is also faster (zero confirmations) than stablecoin transactions on other networks, which require users to wait in line and hope their transaction makes it into the next block and/or pay additional fees to speed up this process.
1Sat Ordinals can also work with sCrypt smart contracts, opening up additional possibilities for financial innovation. And MNEE complies with regulatory agencies seeking to freeze tokens involved in illicit activities, honouring BSV’s ongoing commitment to regulatory compliance.
bsvblockchain.org/unlocking-the-…
Currently available via RockWallet (with other BSV-compatible wallets like HandCash and Yours Wallet in the pipeline), MNEE on BSV is the faster and cheaper alternative to stablecoins on other networks. MNEE on BSV will enable cost-effective micropayments that will lead to new economic models for online commerce.
MNEE on BSV’s economic advantages also make it the perfect product for use in developing countries, where stablecoins are playing an increasing role in everyday commerce, as well as for cross-border remittances.
With costs this low, micropayments can combine with remittances to create micro-remittances—cross-border transfers of tiny amounts of cash that total less than the fees charged for remitting funds via traditional channels.
For instance, a hardworking mother in a foreign country can send just enough money home on a weekly basis to ensure her kids get enough to eat but not enough so her bone idle husband can take up residence at the local watering hole.
As this technology makes further inroads, the mother could make arrangements—literally down to the penny—with the local grocery and other stores to ensure weekly deliveries of food, school supplies and whatever else directly to her kids, eliminating the chance of the husband going rogue.

Unlocking the Potential of Central Bank Digital Currencies
Discover the revolutionary potential of CBDCs, a digital fiat currency regulated by central banks. See faster, cheaper payments and increased security.
Believe me, as someone who’s spent a lot of time in developing countries, the above scenario plays itself out all too often. Economical micropayments will empower the senders of cash, offering peace of mind as well as certainty that the funds get where they need to go.
@kurtwuckertjr, founder of independent BSV mining company GorillaPool, is equally excited about the possibilities of MNEE on BSV: “1Sat Ordinals is unique in its simplicity which makes it unique in its flexibility, scalability and programmability. Every other blockchain and every other token protocol is over-engineered. 1Sat Ordinals are designed with modularity in mind, which is why MNEE was able to deploy rapidly while also adding in a bespoke contract for OFAC [Office of Foreign Assets Control] compliance and launch in weeks instead of months/years like so many other projects!”
I encourage you to check out @MNEE_cash and @rockwallet (which is offering zero trading fees for MNEE transactions for an initial 30-day period).

bsvblockchain.org/unlocking-the-…

Unlocking the Potential of Central Bank Digital Currencies
Discover the revolutionary potential of CBDCs, a digital fiat currency regulated by central banks. See faster, cheaper payments and increased security.

How Metanet restores the concept of the World Wide Web: a thread
1/6 The internet was never meant to be owned by gatekeepers. Metanet is the correction of this. I’ve seen where we went wrong, and now what is coming next...
2/6 I love reading histories of the internet’s early days and the vision of those who saw the promise of this technology. But history also records how that vision ended up compromised by corporations that constrained the technology for their own benefit. arstechnica.com/gadgets/2025/0…
That article link concludes just before Tim Berners-Lee unveils his concept of the world wide web. The web was the sizzle that sold the internet’s steak, unleashing a wave of creativity and allowing millions to realize that what they long believed were niche interests were in fact widely shared. This gave life to countless tight-knit digital communities offering great benefit to members who might otherwise have never found each other.
3/6 Metanet represents both the next evolution of the internet and a return to the world wide web’s original decentralized peer-to-peer design. Metanet is the antidote to the overly centralized ‘Web2’ social media networks that lock your data behind their walled gardens..
4/6 Metanet will combine AI, IPv6 and enterprise blockchain technology to enable a new economy based on cost-efficient micropayments. The explosion of IP addresses available under IPv6 will allow the creation of an unprecedented number of new sites. Creators on these sites will foster direct connections with their audiences, eliminating rent-seeking middlemen from this interaction.
5/6 On Metanet, all activity—blog posts, videos, music, art, whatever—becomes data you can track and verify on an immutable ledger, preventing content from being used or altered without your consent. The data you create on Metanet remains under your control, not endlessly repackaged and sold to third parties by social media gatekeepers that view you as their product, not their customer
6/6 All digital interactions on Metanet—posting, liking, sharing, etc.—will be capable of monetization, thanks to enterprise blockchain’s ability to process millions of transactions in a single block. This ensures transaction fees remain small enough that micropayments make economic sense.

In the early days of the internet, a popular joke was that, online, no one knew you were a dog. So, just a friendly reminder that the next time you’re considering replying to that inflammatory social media comment, this is likely the dog you’re arguing with.
If it’s not an outright scam, the point is to make you angry, to keep you engaged, to spend more time arguing. Whether they’re human or AI, don’t feed the trolls.

1/5 I don’t like giving investment advice. Everyone has their own risk tolerances and goals. Nobody can make these choices for you. Nor should they. But I saw this & thought it hilariously candid, so here’s my take.
2/5 Most sell-offs are overblown. Buying in stages on the way down, even if there’s more ‘down’ to go, is a good strategy for maximizing returns when the inevitable rebound occurs.
3/5 Fundamentals still matter. The fact that a stock is surging doesn’t mean it should. Don’t invest in what you don’t understand. Do your homework to ensure you’re not fuelling a bubble that will soak you when it bursts.
4/5 If your risk tolerance is low and your time horizon is long, index funds are boring but safe. Gold and silver will also pay off in the long run, again, assuming you’re willing to hold.
5/5 And don’t touch any of these crypto ‘treasury’ companies with a ten-foot pole.
