A new Pew survey confirms what we already suspected: Conservatives are now the party of lower-propensity voters. Trump benefited from higher turnout in 2024 and if turnout had been even higher, he would have won by even more.

This is a gigantic change to American politics. It upsets a status quo that has existed for decades, if not generations. While this offers a huge opportunity to conservatives, it's also a challenge: It means that, by default, Republicans will lose most elections unless they can motivate people to turn out. We must master early voting and GOTV, or we will lose to a Democrat base that is smaller but far more consistent and fanatical.
