🖐 Macro Watch | Dec 22 – 28, 2025

A short but impactful pre-holiday week with key U.S. inflation data, GDP momentum updates, and labor signals. Markets may be quieter due to Christmas closures, but the data still matters for rate expectations heading into 2026.

Here are the most crypto-relevant macro events to watch this week:

🗓 Monday, December 22

🇬🇧 UK GDP (QoQ - Q3) – 🕕 07:00
  💡 Consensus: 0.1% | Previous: 0.2%
🇬🇧 UK GDP (YoY - Q3) – 🕕 07:00
  💡 Consensus: 1.3% | Previous: 1.4%
🇺🇸 Core PCE Price Index (MoM - Oct) – 🕕 15:00
  💡 Consensus: 0.2%
🇺🇸 Core PCE Price Index (YoY - Oct) – 🕕 15:00
  💡 Consensus: 2.8%

🗓 Tuesday, December 23

🇺🇸 Durable Goods Orders (MoM - Oct) – 🕕 13:30
  💡 Consensus: 0.2% | Previous: 0.5%
🇺🇸 GDP (QoQ - Q3) – 🕕 13:30
  💡 Consensus: 3.2% | Previous: 3.8%
🇺🇸 CB Consumer Confidence (Dec) – 🕕 15:00
  💡 Consensus: 91.7 | Previous: 88.7
🇺🇸 New Home Sales (Sep–Nov) – 🕕 20:00+
  💡 Previous (Sep): 800K

🗓 Wednesday, December 24

🎄 Global Christmas closures & early market close across major regions

🇺🇸 Initial Jobless Claims – 🕕 13:30
  💡 Consensus: 220K | Previous: 224K
🇺🇸 Crude Oil Inventories – 🕕 15:30
  💡 Previous: -1.274M

🤔 Why it matters:
Core PCE remains the most important U.S. inflation gauge. Combined with GDP and consumer confidence, it will shape expectations around whether easing conditions are sustainable. Jobless claims and durable goods offer extra insight into economic resilience during a slower trading week.

👀 Even with Christmas liquidity thinning, PCE + GDP = the real market signal this week.

🔔 Mark your calendars. Markets are watching every word.
