እንደ እንጨት (FSC)፣ አሉሚኒየም (ASI) እና ብረት (ResponsibleSteel) ያሉ የግንባታ ቁሳቁሶች ጥራታቸውንና አካባቢያዊ ተጠያቂነታቸውን የሚያረጋግጡ ዓለም አቀፍ የምስክር ወረቀቶች ቢኖራቸውም፣ መስታወት ግን እስካሁን ድረስ እንዲህ ዓይነት ወጥ የሆነ ማዕቀፍ አልነበረውም።
በየዓመቱ በዓለም አቀፍ ደረጃ የሚካሄደው የመስታወት ማቅለጥና አመራረት ሂደት ከ95 ሚሊዮን ቶን በላይ የካርቦን ዳይኦክሳይድ (CO₂) ልቀት እንደሚያስከትል ይገመታል። አዲሱ ረቂቅ መስፈርት ይህንን የካርቦን ልቀት ለመቀነስ ከሚደረገው ጥረት ባሻገር፣ የሚከተሉትን ዋና ዋና ጉዳዮች ያካትታል፦
እንደ ሲሊካ አሸዋ (Silica Sand) እና ሶዳ አሽ (Soda Ash) ያሉ ግብዓቶች ከምንጭ አውጣጣጣቸው ጀምሮ ያላቸውን ተፅዕኖ መቆጣጠር፣

6ኪሎ ዩኒቨርስቲ ግቢ ያለው ኬኔዲ ቤተመጽሐፍት ።
የመሠረት ድንጋይ ከተቀመጠለት 60 አመት ያስቆጠረውና ከተመረቀ ደግሞ 56 አመት የሞላው ኬኔዲ ላይብረሪ ከ4 ሚሊዮን ብር በላይ የወጣበት ትልቅ ቤተ መጽሐፍት ነው።
እንደሚታወቀው ቤተ መጽሐፍቱን ለመገንባት ሰኔ 8 1958 የመሠረት ድንጋይ የኖረ ሲሆን ነሐሴ 1961 ዓ.ም የግንባታው ሥራ አንድ ተብሎ መጀመሩን ታሪክ ይነግረናል።
ሐሙስ ሐምሌ 16 1962 ዓ.ም ቀዳማዊ ኃይለሥላሴ በተገኙበት በይፋ የተመረቀው ይህ በአሜሪካው ፕሬዚዳንት በጆን ኤፍ ኬኔዲ ስም የተሰየመው ቤተ መፅሐፍት ሲመረቅ የጆን ኤፍ ኬኔዲ እናት ሮዝ ኬኔዲን እና ልዑል ራስ እምሩ ኃይለሥላሴን ጨምሮ ታላላቅ እንግዶች ተገኝተው ነበር።
የጆንኤፍ ኬኔዲ እናት ሮዝ ኬኔዲ በተገደለው የአሜሪካ ፕሬዝዳንት ልጃቸው የተሰየመውን ቤተመጻህፍት ለመመረቅ ከአሜሪካ አዲስ አበባ ገብተዋል። በምርቃቱ ዋዜማ 80 አመታቸውን ያከበሩ ሲሆን የምርቃቱ ቀን ደግሞ የቀኃስ 78 ተኛ ልደት በዓል ላይ እንዲውል ታስቦ ተደርጓል።
ለንጉሱ ልደት እንደሚደረገው በሌሊት 21 መድፍ ከተተኮሰ በኋላ በቤተመንግስት የ ሁለት ሰአት ጸሎት ተደርጎ የክቡር ዘበኛ ሰልፍ ከታየ በኋላ ነበር በዝናባማው ቀን ቤተመጻህፍቱ የተመረቀው።
10 ሰዓት በተደረገው የቤተ መፅሐፍት የምረቃ ሥነሥርዓት ላይ የዩኒቨርሲቲው ፕሬዘዳንት ዶክተር አክሊሉ ሀብቴ ትልቅ ኃላፊነት ተሰጥቷቸው ወዲያ ወዲህ ይላሉ።
ቤተ-መፅሐፍቱ አንድ ብሎ ተመርቆ ሥራውን ሲጀምር 160,000 መጽሐፍ በመያዝ ነበር። ማንበቢያ ስፍራውም ከ700 በላይ ሰዎችን የሚይዝ ሲሆን የምድር ቤቱም በርካታ መፅሐፍትን የመያዝ አቅም ነበረው።
አዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ጊቢ ውስጥ የሚገኘው ኬኔዲ ቤተ-መጻህፍት በአሜሪካን አገር በት/ቤት ንድፍ እጅግ ታዋቂ በነበሩት በማክ ሊዎድ፣ ፌራራ እና ኤንሳይን አማካሪዎች የተነደፈ፣ በአሜሪካን መንግስት የ1ሚሊየን ዳላር እርዳታ የተገነባ በዘመናዊው ዘይቤ የተቃኘ የከተማችን ውብ ህንጻ ነው።
ሥራውንም በተቋራጭነት ያከናወነው ሳልኮስት ኩባንያ ነበር። አዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርስቲ በኒዮ ክላሲካል ዘይቤ ከተገነቡት ከገነተ ልዑል ቤተመንግስትና ከዱክ ቤት ውጪ እንደዚህ አይነት ውብ ህንጻ የለውም።
ህንጻው የ10 በ10 ሜትር ዋፍል ስላብ መዋቅር የተጠቀመ ሲሆን ባለአራት እኩል ጎን ማዕዘን ቅርጹ፣ የሁሉም ገጽ መመሳሰሉ እና ገጽታው ላይ ያለው ረቂቅ የጸሀይ መከላከያ ንድፉ እንደታሪካዊው የኢትዮዽያ ግዙፍ ኪነህንጻዎች ውበትን ከግዝፈት ጋር አላብሶታል።

የጆንኤፍ ኬኔዲ እናት ሮዝ ኬኔዲ በተገደለው የአሜሪካ ፕሬዝዳንት ልጃቸው የተሰየመውን ቤተመጻህፍት ለመመረቅ ከአሜሪካ አዲስ አበባ ገብተዋል። በምርቃቱ ዋዜማ 80 አመታቸውን ያከበሩ ሲሆን የምርቃቱ ቀን ደግሞ የቀኃስ 78 ተኛ ልደት በዓል ላይ እንዲውል ታስቦ ተደርጓል።
ለንጉሱ ልደት እንደሚደረገው በሌሊት 21 መድፍ ከተተኮሰ በኋላ በቤተመንግስት የ ሁለት ሰአት ጸሎት ተደርጎ የክቡር ዘበኛ ሰልፍ ከታየ በኋላ ነበር በዝናባማው ቀን ቤተመጻህፍቱ የተመረቀው።
10 ሰዓት በተደረገው የቤተ መፅሐፍት የምረቃ ሥነሥርዓት ላይ የዩኒቨርሲቲው ፕሬዘዳንት ዶክተር አክሊሉ ሀብቴ ትልቅ ኃላፊነት ተሰጥቷቸው ወዲያ ወዲህ ይላሉ።
ቤተ-መፅሐፍቱ አንድ ብሎ ተመርቆ ሥራውን ሲጀምር 160,000 መጽሐፍ በመያዝ ነበር። ማንበቢያ ስፍራውም ከ700 በላይ ሰዎችን የሚይዝ ሲሆን የምድር ቤቱም በርካታ መፅሐፍትን የመያዝ አቅም ነበረው።
አዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ጊቢ ውስጥ የሚገኘው ኬኔዲ ቤተ-መጻህፍት በአሜሪካን አገር በት/ቤት ንድፍ እጅግ ታዋቂ በነበሩት በማክ ሊዎድ፣ ፌራራ እና ኤንሳይን አማካሪዎች የተነደፈ፣ በአሜሪካን መንግስት የ1ሚሊየን ዳላር እርዳታ የተገነባ በዘመናዊው ዘይቤ የተቃኘ የከተማችን ውብ ህንጻ ነው።
ሥራውንም በተቋራጭነት ያከናወነው ሳልኮስት ኩባንያ ነበር። አዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርስቲ በኒዮ ክላሲካል ዘይቤ ከተገነቡት ከገነተ ልዑል ቤተመንግስትና ከዱክ ቤት ውጪ እንደዚህ አይነት ውብ ህንጻ የለውም።
ህንጻው የ10 በ10 ሜትር ዋፍል ስላብ መዋቅር የተጠቀመ ሲሆን ባለአራት እኩል ጎን ማዕዘን ቅርጹ፣ የሁሉም ገጽ መመሳሰሉ እና ገጽታው ላይ ያለው ረቂቅ የጸሀይ መከላከያ ንድፉ እንደታሪካዊው የኢትዮዽያ ግዙፍ ኪነህንጻዎች ውበትን ከግዝፈት ጋር አላብሶታል።
