The cost of shipping 2 million barrels of oil jumps another 14.3% today to $18.15 per barrel.
That move is already extreme.
I think it gets even more extreme from here.

Moving 2 million barrels of oil from West Africa to China now costs $15.88 per barrel.
No wonder all my tanker stocks hit new 52-week highs last Friday.
I still think the biggest problems in the oil market are ahead of us, not behind us.

The bank says it had assumed there were economic red lines the Trump administration would be unwilling to cross, and that six months later "many of those lines have been crossed, yet the exit strategy is less clear, not more."
Chevron's CEO said this week the Great fuel crisis has officially arrived, as Trump officials continue to claim the disruption temporary.

Saudi Arabia’s Yanbu hasn’t loaded crude since September 11, according to Vortexa data. Shutdown will effect exports with a lag from Egypt’s Sidi Kerir in the Mediterranean
Vortexa sees more suezmaxes and aframaxes en route to Sidi Kerir; even as exports there continue, more volume may go to Europe versus around the Cape of Good Hope to Asia

With Yanbu exports in peril, VLCC spot rates continue to spike
The question for the VLCC market is whether the Yanbu export halt will lead to more Saudi shuttle flows via Hormuz and/or more long-haul replacement fixtures to Asia from the Atlantic, both positive for VLCC rates, or an overall drop in VLCC volume that is…
