👉🏻 For the New Year, the French public television channel France 2 (equivalent to the BBC) organised a big celebration in the Chateau de Versailles.

✊🏾 To celebrate France, the public TV channel chose to pick transgender Arabs, black rappers, Congolese singers, Lebanese singers and songs in Arabic.

📌 The walls of the Château de Versailles, home of the Sun King, were thus the scene of a beautiful orgy of diversity, twerk, drag queen make-up. In short : modernity.

🇫🇷🇲🇱 TWO FRENCH SOLDIERS KILLED IN MALI

☠️ Two french soldiers were killed in Mali this Saturday. They were doing a special reconnaissance mission when their VBL (light armoured vehicle) exploded following an IED attack.

📌 The soldiers were part of the "2nd Hussard Regiment" a regiment belonging to the Military Intelligence Brigade. Their mission is to operate in-depth reconnaissance as well as capture and interrogate High Value Individuals.

👉🏻 This same week, three other french soldiers were killed. Over the last weeks, french politicians have started considering leaving Mali, as the 9 years old operation is not succeeding.

January 3, 1383, end of the Maillotins revolt. The Maillotins revolt was a popular tax uprising in Paris, taxes which were deemed to be far too high. The King showed no weakness, and in 1383, a terrible repression fell on the rioters whose leaders were beheaded or hanged without further trial. This veritable "fiscal revolt" led to martial law and prompted Charles VI to take matters back in hand. The main victims were the tax collectors (their registers were burned) then the Jews (16 killed). 🇫🇷
