Since 2010, Seifullah has led an initiative to develop what he calls a “Muslim Village,” and now the mosque is on a mission to purchase the surrounding properties and transform them into affordable housing.
Inside the growing “village” are a free medical clinic, a food pantry, a library, a community garden and a Monday-through-Friday school for youth. The mosque also provides meals, temporary housing for women facing abuse or other issues, short-term rent and utilities assistance, and a faith-based 12-step program to recover from addiction...

The International Association of Religion Journalists (IARJ) is a global network of journalists promoting excellence in the coverage of religion and spirituality. It provides services and resources to strengthen and support the work of its members. It engages media leaders, educational institutions and communities on the importance of accurate, balanced, and ethical religion coverage to foster understanding.
The IARJ together with the Italian institute Fondazione per le Scienze Religiose Giovanni XXIII (FSCIRE), within the framework of the European Academy of Religion, have launched a new journalism award for journalists based in Europe and in the Mediterranean basin, the Piazza Grande Religion Journalism Award. The amount of the award is 2,500 euros.
The goal of the award is to encourage the journalistic coverage of religion on the field, through work with a wide range of sources, portraying peace and conflict, dialogue and interfaith issues, and the most varied intersections of religion with politics, public life, culture and the arts, etc...

رئیس سازمان امنیت و اطلاعات استرالیا در جلسه پارلمانی از آخرین گزارش های سازمان خود مبتنی بر افزایش تهدیدها و اسلام هراسی خبر داد. بزرگترین مجمع اسلامی استرالیا نیز نسبت به افزایش تبعیض ها علیه مسلمانان به دولت ملی هشدار داد. فدراسیون شوراهای اسلامی استرالیا معتقد است که لایحه تبعیض مذهبی پیشنهادی دولت به اندازه کافی قابل اجرا در جامعه ای که تحمل ناپذیری آن رو به افزایش است نمی باشد...

بنای یک مسجد می تواند به عنوان یک تعامل تحول گرای اجتماعی تلقی شود و بسیاری از ذینفعان در ساخت مساجد را در خود جای دهد (به عنوان مثال ، سازمان های مسلمان، اهدا کنندگان بین المللی، سیاست مداران محلی، گروه های ضداسلامی مخالف احداث مسجد و منتقدین دیگر).
از این رو در این کارگاه در ارتباط با سیاست های متغیر ساخت مساجد، چالش های ساخت و ساز مساجد و قلمرو مساجد گفت و گو می شود و استراتژی های مورد استفاده سیاست مداران محلی و ملی در ساخت مساجد مورد بررسی قرار می گیرد...
