🇺🇸🇮🇷⚡️ — BREAKING: U.S. launches “unprecedented” Operation Economic Outcast against Iran, targeting Tehran and any supporters, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said.

➡️ “We are beginning an economic offensive against Iran’s financial links worldwide,” Bessent stated.

➡️ Goal: sever all economic ties sustaining Iran’s leadership; block revenue streams funding the IRGC, he said, urging world leaders to choose between the U.S. and Iran.

➡️ Iran faces two paths: complete global isolation or a return to normal life, Bessent added.

➡️ Washington announced sanctions on nearly 60 Iran-linked entities, individuals, and vessels tied to nuclear, missile, cyber, and oil sectors.

🇺🇸🇨🇳🇮🇷⚡️ — NEW: US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent declines to say if Chinese banks could face sanctions over Iran ties, saying “no one is above the reach of US sanctions,” Bloomberg reports.

Bessent warned the US will penalize countries that refuse to cut economic ties with Iran.

Pressed on China, he would not specify targets but said entities facilitating Iranian oil-to-cash flows “will be targeted.”

He added the US knows the facilitators and implied enforcement is forthcoming.

China has purchased up to 90% of Iran’s oil exports and maintains broader trade with Tehran.

🇦🇲🚫🇮🇱 — In a speech to the Armenian parliament, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan criticized Israel for the way it announced its recognition of the Armenian genocide, using it as an example of countries cynically exploiting the suffering of the Armenian people for their own purposes. Pashinyan stated the following:

"We decided that international recognition of the Armenian genocide would not be a priority of our foreign policy. And while we were formulating explanations for our society about why we made that decision, the events themselves provided a compelling explanation. Recently, the Israeli government, with incredible persistence, began the process of recognizing the Armenian genocide – and then, with the same persistence, halted that process.

This was another important episode that lifted the veil, and we all saw, were forced to see, what was happening live.

International players – forgive me for the phrasing – are banging their heads against each other, using the remains of our saints (victims), but it is our heads that are hurting.

International players are turning the bones of our saints into weapons, shooting at each other with those weapons, but it is we who are dying – as it was in the late 19th century, in the early and late 20th century, and until recently.

We must put an end to this process of turning the Armenian genocide into a weapon. Because, even if we are naive enough to think that this weapon is in our hands, we are dying again and again from its shots, and we will continue to die again and again."

It should be noted that, despite the Israeli government's decision in late June 2026 to recognize the Armenian genocide, this issue was removed from the Knesset's agenda, and a vote on it did not take place due to strong political pressure from Azerbaijan. Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan is referring specifically to these "ups and downs," which, in his opinion, demonstrate that the reason Israel initially seemed to want to recognize the Armenian genocide was not sincere or genuine, but rather stemmed from a desire to "poke" Turkey under Erdogan, that is, within the context of escalating tensions in relations between Jerusalem and Ankara. In this context, he is undoubtedly correct.

More than 90 seafarers have been captured by pirates since the beginning of the recent wave of piracy in the Gulf of Aden, Secretary General of the International Maritime Organization Arsenio Dominguez said in a statement.

“Shipping challenges are on the rise with the recent increase of piracy incidents in the Gulf of Aden. With the most recent highjack, a sixth vessel is being held by pirates and armed robbers in waters that are becoming too dangerous for seafarers. More than 90 innocent seafarers are now being held captive, their lives subject to constant uncertainty and threat,” he said.

He called for an immediate and unconditional release of all those who are being held captive. “No seafarer should face violence, intimidation or exploitation simply for doing their jobs and keeping global trade moving,” he stressed.
